Call for Papers
We are pleased to announce opening of the call for proposals for the 17th International Conference of Women Engineers & Scientists.
The International Track Themes are as follows:
⇋ Science and technology covering broadly the technological innovations and research which are being carried out globally and the outlook as anticipated in next 10 years’ time frame such as the planning, design and construction of smart cities to cover how advanced technology and innovations enhance the quality of life, safety, ease of transport and communications and cyber security for inhabitants.
All submissions must be in English and must clearly specify following:
⇋ Title of Presentation
⇋ Intended Audience
⇋ Session Theme/Track
⇋ Learning Objectives
⇋ Abstract (500 words or less)
⇋ Presenting Author: name, title, employer, address, and e-mail
⇋ Short biography (50 words or less) including a very brief description of responsibilities and educational background. Note: If there are more than one speaker/author, information for each must be provided.
⇋ Travel Grant information: economy airfare, local travel, hotel accommodation, visa application and/or registration
⇋ Lecture Presentations (45 minutes + 10 minutes Q&A)
⇋ Workshops (1 or 2 hours)
⇋ Panel Discussions (1 hour)
⇋ Lightning Talks (15 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A)

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, is the incumbent Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Earth Sciences of the Government of India. Formerly he had been the Minister of Law and Minister of Health in the Government of Delhi. He is the principal pioneer of the national campaign for a polio-free India. His Polio Eradication Plan was adopted by the Government of India and exercised throughout the nation. Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee described him as Swasthya Vardhan. He has been recipient of numerous awards such as International Award by the Director General of World Health Organisation, Polio Eradication Champion Award by Rotary Foundation, International Service Award by Lions Club, Paul Harris Fellowship of Rotary International, Indian Medical Association Special Appreciation Award (Twice).
Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Sharma is the Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India since January 2015. He was a professor (1997), an Institute Chair Professor (2007) and the Head (200305) of Chemical Engineering, and the founding Coordinator of Nanosciences Center and Advanced Imaging Center at the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur. Prof. Sharma’s research contributions are highly interdisciplinary, spanning a wide range in nanotechnology; thin polymer films; nanocomposites and devices in energy, health and environment; functional interfaces; micro/nanomechanics of soft matter; nanopatterning and nanofabrication; colloid and interfacial engineering; biomaterials & biosurfaces; wetting and adhesion.
He has published over 300 peer reviewed papers, filed over 15 patents, given over 100 invited orkey note conference presentations and mentored a nanotechnology startup.
